XG Energy ("we", "our", "us") explains here what personal data xgesg.info collects, why, on what legal basis, who else handles it and how long we keep it. It describes what the site actually does: there are three forms on this website and nothing else collects information you type.

1. What We Collect

Information you give us

Three forms, and these are the only fields each one stores:

  • Enquiry form: your name, email address, and optionally your company and your message. Also the page you submitted from.
  • Deadline alerts: your email address, and the page you signed up from.
  • "Report an issue" on a register page: the page and field you are questioning and your comment. This form asks for no name and no email, so unless you type identifying details into the comment box it holds nothing that identifies you.

We do not ask for a telephone number, a job title, or payment details anywhere on this site. If you email us instead, we hold whatever you choose to put in the email.

Information collected automatically

  • Your browser’s user-agent string is stored with each form submission (truncated to 500 characters) to help us tell real submissions from automated ones.
  • Your IP address is read when you submit a form, and is used only to limit how many times the same address can submit in a short window. We do not write it to our database. It is, however, necessarily seen and logged by our hosting provider.
  • Usage data — pages visited, approximate location, device and browser — is collected by the analytics and advertising tools described in section 5, and only once you have accepted those cookies.

2. Why We Use It, and Our Legal Basis

Under the UK GDPR and EU GDPR we must have a lawful basis for each purpose. These are ours:

Processing purposes and their legal basis
What we doLegal basis
Reply to your enquiry and discuss working togetherSteps taken at your request before entering a contract (Art. 6(1)(b))
Send deadline alerts you signed up forYour consent (Art. 6(1)(a)), withdrawable at any time
Act on a reported error in the regulation registerOur legitimate interest in keeping a published reference accurate (Art. 6(1)(f))
Rate-limit form submissions and block spamOur legitimate interest in keeping the site available and free of abuse (Art. 6(1)(f))
Analytics and advertising cookiesYour consent (Art. 6(1)(a)), given in the cookie banner
Keep records we are required to keep, or need to defend a claimLegal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)) and legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f))

We do not use your data to make automated decisions about you, and we do not profile you.

3. How Long We Keep It

  • Deadline-alert email addresses: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Every alert we send carries an unsubscribe link.
  • Enquiry submissions: for as long as we are in contact about the enquiry, and afterwards for as long as we need a record of the engagement or of why we did not proceed. If nothing comes of an enquiry, ask us and we will delete it.
  • Reported errors: kept while the report is open and after it is resolved, because the register publishes a change history and a report is the record of why an entry changed. These records normally contain no personal data.
  • Analytics and advertising data: held by the providers in section 5 under their own retention settings, not by us.

We would rather state criteria we actually follow than publish a fixed number of months we do not. Whatever the criteria, you can ask us to delete your data at any time and we will, unless we are required to keep it.

4. Who Else Handles It

We do not sell your personal data. These are the companies that process it on our behalf:

  • Supabase — the database that stores form submissions.
  • Vercel — hosts this website, so it handles every request and its server logs include IP addresses. Also provides one of our analytics tools.
  • Google — Google Analytics, only after you accept analytics cookies.
  • Meta — the Meta advertising pixel, only after you accept marketing cookies.

We may also disclose data where the law requires it, to establish or defend a legal claim, or to a buyer if the business is sold. We do not pass your details to referral partners or associates unless you have asked us to introduce you.

5. Cookies

Analytics and marketing cookies are set only after you accept them in the consent banner. You can change your choice at any time through "Cookie Settings" in the footer, or in your browser. Declining them does not limit your use of the site.

  • Essential: needed for the site to work, including remembering your cookie choice.
  • Analytics: Google Analytics and Vercel Analytics, to see which pages are used.
  • Marketing: the Meta pixel, for advertising.

Our cookie policy sets this out in more detail.

6. Your Rights

If the UK or EU GDPR applies to you, you have the right to:

  • ask what we hold about you and get a copy
  • have inaccurate data corrected
  • have your data deleted
  • object to, or ask us to restrict, processing based on legitimate interest
  • receive data you gave us in a portable format
  • withdraw consent at any time, without affecting what we did before you withdrew it
  • opt out of marketing at any time

Email info@xgesg.info and we will respond within one month. Exercising these rights is free.

You can also complain to a data protection regulator. In the UK that is the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk); in the EEA it is the supervisory authority where you live or work. You do not have to raise it with us first, though we would prefer the chance to put it right.

7. Where Your Data Goes

The providers in section 4 are US companies and your data may be processed outside the UK and EEA. Each of them publishes a data processing agreement incorporating the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses, which is the safeguard those transfers rely on.

8. Children

This is a business service and is not directed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you think we have, tell us and we will delete it.

9. Changes

When we change this policy we update the date at the top of the page. If a change materially affects what we do with data we already hold, we will tell the people affected rather than rely on them re-reading this page.

If You Are in California

Under the CCPA and CPRA you can ask what categories of personal information we have collected about you, ask for it to be deleted or corrected, and not be treated differently for asking. We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising except through the advertising cookie described in section 5, which is set only if you accept it and which you can turn off at any time in Cookie Settings.
