Where do these figures come from?

Separate maxima for undertakings and audit firms

Greece runs two penalty tracks: GEMI at up to €100,000 against the reporting undertaking, and ELTE at up to €100,000 against individual auditors and €500,000 against audit firms, doubling on repeat. The audit-firm maximum is five times the undertaking maximum.

In short

Greece transposed CSRD through Law 5164/2024 (ΦΕΚ A 202), in force from 12 December 2024. The General Commercial Registry (GEMI) imposes administrative fines from a €100 floor up to €100,000 on the undertaking, and from €5,000 up to €50,000 on a natural person, with imprisonment of up to three years possible. Separately, ELTE can fine auditors up to €100,000 and audit firms up to €500,000, doubling on repeat. Art. 57 of Law 5255/2025 later suspended the later reporting waves to 2028/29.

Minimum and maximum fines

Greek administrative fines here carry statutory floors: €100 for the undertaking and €5,000 for a natural person, so even a technical breach carries a defined minimum amount.

Law 5164/2024 was amended by Art. 57 of Law 5255/2025 (28 Nov 2025), which suspends the later reporting waves to 2028/29 and the Art. 14A third-country regime to 6 Jan 2030. The penalty amounts are unchanged.

Audit & Disclosure Readiness

Disclosure regimes are judged on evidence rather than intent. XG reviews documentation, maps it to the framework and finds the gaps before an assurance provider does — XG does not author or submit the final report.
